Creative collaboration about Kachin political experiences

Dan Seng Lawn of the Kachinland Research Centre collaborated with artist Cecilia Ja Seng to communicate experiences of, and challenges around, freedom of expression and internal displacement in Kachin state through art. Their aim in doing so is to engage with people and politicians about issues connected with Kachin identity and security; and to advocate for more meaningful Kachin inclusion in Myanmar’s political processes. The artwork was exhibited at the Ahnu Thutaythana Festival in Yangon in 2019 as part of the ‘Reducing inequalities in public engagement’ project.
