This highly accessible cartoon booklet, entitled Why aren’t there more women in politics? Opinions from women members of Parliament in Mon, Karen, and Tanintharyi hluttaws, summarises the findings of a research project about the barriers and opportunities facing women who enter politics in Myanmar. The artwork was created by Min Arkar Htet as the result of his immersion in the project, and was exhibited at the Ahnu Thutaythana Festival in Yangon in 2019, as part of the ‘Reducing inequalities in public engagement’ project.
