From 7-9 September 2020 the Global Research Network on Parliaments and People held a symposium about democracy in Myanmar and Ethiopia. In this webinar presentation Tsegaye Birhanu explains how his GRNPP-funded research probed the links between political exclusion of ethnic minorities and broader social attitudes towards different groups of peoples. As political struggles are leading to violent conflict and widespread internal displacement in this region, the importance of this research cannot be overstated.
